Down Home Gourmet We are a tearoom by day and an upscale, but comfortable, dining experience by night. Whenever you visit, we want you to feel like a guest in our home. We are in an old house, our tables topped with lace tablecloths, with antiques and eclectic decor throughout. It does feel like a day gone by; comfortable, slowed down, a respite. We change the menu daily, so check the online menu for current offerings. Everything is homemade. We are known for our spinach and strawberry salad with homemade poppy seed dressing, homemade bread, and luscious cream pies. Reservations are appreciated but not necessary (unless your party is over 6). Dress is casual. Seating in 3 rooms with a total capacity of 75. Private parties, meetings, showers, birthdays, any reason to gather can be accommodated during hours we are not normally open to the public. Our Durning House Cookbook is now available!
